Eric Yahav worked hard to earn his Black Belt in Krav Maga over many
years of practice and training because he wanted to be able to defend
himself if necessary and stay as active as possible. He is an OBGYN
specialist working with several women’s health clinics in northern New
Jersey and community organizations to help women with their pregnancies
to have healthy, happy babies. He found the time in his busy schedule to
learn Krav Maga because he admired the techniques of the fighting
system and the discipline that comes with succeeding in learning it
fully.
Krav Maga is the official Israeli Defense Force hand-to-hand combat technique. It is based on counterattacks and uses many fighting principles from Judo, Jiu Jitsu, and boxing. Krav Maga training and official fights typically involve a mastery of timing and making tactical decisions. While the attack strategy in a typical Krav Maga match is important, as Eric Yahav knows, so is the art of defense and counterattack. Knowing where and how to meet an opponent’s strike is just as important and learning how to land your own attack. Eric Yahav enjoys the tactical and strategic aspect of the fighting discipline as much as the physical aspect.
Eric Yahav is proud of his accomplishments in the Krav Maga ring and in his training with his instructors who helped him reach the level of master in a relatively short time. He uses the discipline he learned early on in medical school and in his medical training afterward to put the time in and master such a complicated and competitive fighting system.
